Necessity Is The Mother of Invention...
.....at least for those of us
with empty pockets
spent my afternoon making stamps
for gelli printing
$15 for one at artfoamie
is out of my budget
and quiet frankly
that price hurts my
feeling...

Geesh......
so... was one journal enough
nooooo... my bipolar a$$ had to have three!
these two are a full size and a mini
covered in a heavy cardstock paper
that will be used just for fun
the third one is also a mini
but will be a more serious
journal... i'm covering it in canvas
so i can paint the cover
i spent some time in my studio
pulling out and organizing my
paints/stamps & markers
think i'm ready to roll

How You Learn To Live Alone
"First you fall
then you fly
believe you belong to the sky
Flap your
arms
as you run
every revolution closer to the sun
Fall asleep in
motion
uncharted hemispheres
wake with stars falling 'round your
ears
When they hit the ground
they're nothing but stone
That's how you
learn to live alone
Release resistance
Release resistance
lean into the wind
til
the roof crumbles
rain pouring in
Sit in the rubble
til the rubble
feels like home
That's how you learn to live alone..."

Broken Dreams
"the thing about memories
is they come back to you...
in the darkness
or in the daylight
they arrive like strangers at night
they appear out of the shadows
in the heat of the sun
or walk up to you...smiling
in the rain
no matter how you feel
you know the truth
when you come face to face
with it
you know it by its eyes
... its voice
you know it so well that you
don't need to ask its name
and then
what do you do?
whatever is needed
to forget..."

Water
for the longest time i've felt the pull to relocate
this land has been in my family since the early 70's
there is a connection here
but it's not home
logistics of moving seem overwhelming
but the pull....
awoke this morning to the whisper of water
all day..... water
felt drawn to read my coffee grounds...
do you see
fish... tail breaking the surface
the spray
can you smell the slick body
returning to the liquid womb
...water

Baby Steps
well....
at least i got to carve
frustrating when i can't make
my hands use my mind's eye
if i'd practice every day
maybe
it's just not in me
to do that
this was a limb from a dead cherry tree
'bout two fingers wide
i'd rather be outside
chainsaw carving
not in all this pollen
it'll have to wait
