Chickens...Chickens...Chickens...
I'm forever trying to find a reliable source of fresh...organic eggs.
So...I've finally decided to just get my own chickens.
I have plenty of room for chickens to run free range
but with all the coyotes and fox I don't feel they will
be very safe. I've got a friend building me a Chicken
Tractor so they can safely be free range. I printed these
pictures from an ebay seller so he could get an idea
of what I want. Sooooo looking forward to homegrown
vegetable quiche!

I'm hoping to get my "tractor" in a couple of weeks...Barbara. Now I need to decide what kind of hens I want...I'm thinking Buff Orpingthons....Hmmmmmmm...we"ll see.

How wonderful jody & what a cool chicken tractor. One of my other readers has chickens & I love the photos of them that she posts. Good luck! I hope the fox stays away!
How exciting Jody! I am hoping to get chickens this year, for the first time, so will be keenly observing your progress :))
Thanks Sally and Jubby.....I'll be posting pictures as things get "rolling". My game plan is to hopefully let them roam free when I'm not working and keep them in the tractor when I'm gone. I've had chickens before and lost them to predators so I'll try to be a better guardian this time.
