I've just spent some "quality" time with my old nemesis....

THE SEWING MACHINE!

I want to do some free motion sewing....
a little hard to do when you don't know how to sew...

I actually embarrassed myself with the words

that came out of my mouth....

It took me over an hour to figure out the whole 

threading/bobbin thingy....sigh...

Now for the 'tension' problem....

oh yeah....there's a tension problem 

going on here ...and on the stitches too.

I picked up this book by Alisa Burke yesterday....

LOVIN' it! Now if I can just calm down enough

to figure out what I'm doing wrong.....

Just look at this scarf from her book.....WANT!

I'd like to think I'll be able to do the straight stitching

to make this if I can ever get the hang of the 

free motion stuff.....

I have a confession....

I LOVE playing around with

digital art kits! It's like grown up

Colorforms. Most kits are very

inexpensive but you need to

purchase a license to use the

kits in something you'll sale. Sooooooo....

here's my first attempt at making my own

digi kit....just some doodling with poster pens...

scanning them in and making PNGs .

I'm thinking of making some desk

calendars and cards....FUN!

At early dawn... like soldiers in their places...

rank upon rank the golden sunflowers stand...

gazing toward the east with eager faces...

waiting... until their god shall touch the land

to life and glory... longingly they wait...

those voiceless watchers at the morning's gate.

and as their god moves grandly down the west...
