my drug of choice.....
It's been raining here on and off all week leaving me stuck inside for longer than I'd like. I've always been an outdoors person....nature being my drug of choice. As a child I roamed the woods...playing for hours in the creek searching for "crawdads" and salamanders...building intricate villages from sticks and rocks...or just laying out in a field watching clouds (sure can't do that anymore with the fireants!)
Yesterday's workday seemed ten days long and I itched to get outside for a walk about and a little nature time. I guess Mother Nature felt my pain and sent me a little cheering committee. These guys were waiting outside the door when I splashed in from a soggy lunchbreak......

Thanks little guys.....

the art of aging.....
I haven't read The Art of Aging by Alice and Richard Matzkin yet
but I've ordered the book. We are shamed into
believing our bodies aren't good enough if they don't match those
we see in the media. How awful that it takes aging to realize that
we are just what we're supposed to be........

the full pink moon...
"in the beginning of all things...wisdom and
knowledge were with the animals...for the
One Above did not speak directly to man.
He sent certain animals to tell men that he
showed himself through the beast...and that
from them...and from the stars and the sun
and moon should man learn..."
celebrating the full pink moon on this
crisp spring night....
